A little bit about me, Dylan Benito.
I graduated from Portland State University with a Bachelor of Science in Arts and Letters. I received minors in Writing and Editing. My focus was in Technical and Science Writing and Editing. I also enjoy fiction writing and have written four novels. Check out my LinkedIn profile for my full resume.
While I was at PSU, I interned at the Astrobiology Journal and at the Intel Corporation. I learned valuable skills at both internships. I discovered that I really enjoy working with scientific and technical material that is far above my knowledge level. While working for both, I discovered that I find working on White Papers and articles on deep space a fun puzzle, not a monotonous chore.
I have edited papers with multiple authors, and am adept at combining voices to make a cohesive paper. I have worked with ESL (English as a Second Language) translation issues, and pride myself on keeping to the author’s intent, while making changes to reflect the intricacies of the English language. One of my favorite jobs is making science writing more accessible to the general public. I consider myself a geek-speak translator.
